philosophy major?

answers1: I am a graduate of Philosophy. We studied, Philosophy of
God, Universe, Religion, Philosophical Psychology, Philosophy of
State, Philosophy of Morals, Logic, Philosophy of knowledge etc.
Everything we studied always deals with reasoning. Like, proving God's
existence through reason. In Philosophy of State, we studied
communism. Very interesting...
answers2: Bong's got it as far as the usual Western education
curriculum.. It might be wise to supplement "the usual" with some
review of Eastern thought and metaphysics -- provides a far more
balanced view and approach. Especially since the West is besotted by
"reason" and the East leans a bit more toward consciousness
experience. <br>

I would suggest adding the "psychology of meditation" plus
experiential practices, for example. And researching such schools of
thought as esoteric Buddhism, Daoism and Shinto. Not to mention Vedic
studies -- a mindblower. Reason/logic can take you only so far in
realizing "the Truth" --which, of course, is what philosophy is all
about. The Eastern disciplines will take you the rest of the way :))
