Kara Tabian: In the US all but two states are "at will" states as pertains to employment. Part of what you signed says you'ld you give the proper (one month) written notice you'll be given a months pay even if all you do is sit in an office playing movies on you iPhone. The contract is legal as written. They can and obviously do want you to be available for one full month. They have no legal way to force you to work beyonfmd your two week notice. Heads up: Your current employer may have a "no rehire policy" for employees who don't work out the mandatory notice period.
