What are some reasons in why gay marriage should be banned?

Todd Stogner: Some religious stuff.

Dorine Nurre: Your argument has marriage being made for unconsenting parties. With two legal aged adults, what they do is their own business. They are not making love on your front lawn, so leave them alone, and move onto more important issues of the day.

Zelma Casebier: No reason

Jill Thomer: Use the logical fallacy of the slippery slope. If we let gays marriage, then why not group marriages, or animals, inanimate objects?

Carolin Southers: Marriage is a sacred vow, not something we can just change cause we feel like

Refugio Gastineau: There are none. Marriage is a legal contract between two people and their sex is irrelevant. Marriage is a State matter controlled by laws of the State and has nothing whatsoever to do with religion even though many religious leaders are licensed marriage celebrants. They get their licence to perform marriages from the State, not the church.

Karie Mavle: It shouldn't b! e banned.

Tillie Wynott: 1. Homosexuality itself is harmful to society. Even though gay people comprise about 2% of the population, they almost make up the highest amount of new HIV/AIDS cases. Even with the use of protection, gay people are still at risk of contracting STDs because condoms aren't made for anal sex. Gay people are also at high risk of anal cancer.2. Homosexuality is unnatural. The primary reason we even experience a sex drive is to prepare ourselves for reproduction. Because gay people are sexually aroused by members of the same sex, apparently, they are prepared to reproduce with people of the same sex, which is biologically impossible. Therefore, homosexuality is unnatural. For that reason alone, people shouldn't be forced to accept it or make laws supporting it.3. Homosexuality is a lifestyle choice. Although many people claim that gay people are supposedly born gay, no real evidence proves that people are born that way. Homosexuality is based on w! ho you choose to have sex with and nothing in a person's DNA c! an verify homosexuality. Creating laws based on the things a person chooses to do in bed is a waste of legislation.4. Marriage often correlates with religion. A good example would be the term "holy matrimony." Many religions in the world strongly oppose anything remotely homosexual. The Bill of Rights, namely the 1st amendment, concerns itself with freedom of religion. By forcing churches to marry homosexuals, you defy their religious rights....Show more

Catheryn Small: There are no logical, non-religious arguments to be against Marriage Equality.
