Lissette Semon: True, if you are legally divorced in one place it applies in other countries. However, it has been known to happy that one party petitions the Indian court regarding the marriage/divorce and the property after the divorce occured in India. It is then up to the Indian court to state that the parties are legally divorced and to refuse to take any action. Unfortunately, the Indian courts like to interfere so there is a chance that they might want to get involved.
