Politically, socially, or spiritually is gambling legal or illegal?

Zelma Casebier: IMO, your question is a moot one. What you consider your money as and how you spend it is a personal choice. Unless you are being literal and spend all your money on gambling and you live in a state where it is not legal and I don't think that is what you mean.

Hilton Paiva: They are all forms of gambling you described.Politically it is legal.Socially, it is legal, but can carry a stigma, such as poor people spend more money on lotto tickets than other people.Spiritually, it is up to the person who wants to gamble or not. It can be considered 'illegal' mainly because of way gambling can take hold of some people. Spiritually, in this instance, man is allowing gambling to be his God....Show more

Ruby Martis: It's fine as long as you don't waste money you need, especially if you've got a family to take care of.

Robt Betker: It is not illegal or socially and spiritually a problem for God - the problem is that gambling is mathematically fixed i! n favour of the casino or whoever organises it. They all give the illusion of being able to win big but overall they are guaranteed to make money, not lose it. So why risk your hard earned money on a mathematical system that is designed to take your money?

Toby Women: I also consider "investing" to be gambling, All of what you describe is legal in many places. Politically, it is often encouraged, especially lotteries and "investments", socially it is acceptable to some (me) and not to others (often the very religious). Spiritually, many religions don't like it, but other encourage it, think of church raffles in the U.S. or other charity gambling operations (we have a place near where I live where people can play poker for money in the name of charity, nobody seems to mind, but many are opposed to having any new casinos in the state)....Show more
