my car makes a cracking noise when i make a turn. what might that be?

Bob Nakamoto: This is almost always the Constant Velocity (CV) joints going bad. It happens on all front wheel drive cars no matter who makes them.

Dawn Saha: It sounds like a bad CV axle that will make banging and knocking noises while turning but not a squealing noise. The hard steering is either a loose power steering belt or a seized P/S pump and the belt slipping on it or your really low on P/S fluid usually caused by a leak either the pump, line, steering rack. It also could be a seized balljoint causing hard steering. Hope this helps

Samara Siewers: axels shaft, when they go they make that noise when makeing sharp turns,,,

Gene Debell: your suspension might be the sucking

Chris Rosenkranz: My car makes a ka-ka-ka-ka- cracking sound when i make a sharp turn . What parts do I need to buy for my repair guy?

Charline Granes: Sounds like you need c v joints. take car to a Professional mechanic. they can tell you what exactly is going on. goo! d luck. hope this helps.
