Joie Kemmis: The best transportation was by water- ships, boats and canoes were better than anything else, so cities were near a body of water that allowed transportation to outlying areas. They used horses, wagons and carts. Most walked. Oxen were also used to pull wagons and carts. Some people used a 'riding chair' which is something like a harness racing cart or a chariot.
